Come and enjoy the abundance of spring flowers. We should also see many birds.

Meet at Niagara College, 135 Taylor Rd., NOTL, at the south-east corner of the back parking lot near the greenhouse.
On the Wetland Ridge Trail, we will find marsh birds, turtles, and frogs.

MAY 22, MORGAN’S POINT (3)
From Hwy 3 in Port Colborne go west to Wainfleet, take Golf Course Rd. south to Lakeshore Rd., then Lakeshore west to Morgan’s Point Rd., then go south to the park.
We will explore old growth forest, prairie remnants and a sand dune complex on Lake Erie shoreline.

3101 Barron Rd, Fonthill. Park in the small parking lot before the gate. Gates are locked at 8pm.
Located within the Niagara Escarpment and Twelve Mile Creek valley, this natural area provides a tranquil setting for wildlife and visitors.

Meet in the 2nd parking lot at the north end of Dorchester Rd. N. Falls, just over the train tracks.
This area has a wealth of trees and flowers.

Meet at the picnic area, followed by a walk in the woods. Bring food, plate, cup, utensils, and drink.

9382-9388 Tallgrass Ave, Chippawa. Take Sodom to Mann to access the new subdivision where the woodlot is located.We will walk along the new boardwalk to view wetlands and tall trees in this lovely woodlot.

JUNE 26, MOUNTAINVIEW TRAIL (8)
4174 Mountainview Rd, Beamsville.
A passive natural area comprised of Carolinian forest, this 25-hectare area conserves Carolinian plants, provides habitat for animals and shelters a portion of the Niagara Escarpment. We’ll see exposed dolostone rock, many bedrock fractures and eroded talus slopes of the Escarpment.

This wetland adjacent to the Niagara River has undergone restoration of the shoreline habitat that will include wildlife habitat conservation work, trail upgrades and educational signage.

Short Hills Provincial Park at 660 hectares, is the largest provincial park in Niagara Region.

On Decew Rd., north of Beaverdams Rd., in Thorold
We will look for flora and fauna along a trail and a lovely boardwalk overlooking Lake Gibson.

From East Main St., turn Right on Cross St., follow over white Bridge to parking lot, Welland.
Walk the paved trail at an enjoyable pace, stopping along the way to enjoy flora and fauna.

We will meet in front of the Butterfly Conservatory. Paid Parking.
Legacy Prairie Garden located next to the Butterfly Conservatory was designed as an educational resource for the native habitat, meadows and prairie gardens found throughout Ontario.

We will observe the native plant restoration that is attracting many birds and mammals.

From the corner of Dominion Rd. & Burleigh Rd. in Fort Erie turn north on Burleigh. The parking lot is after the first house on the left.
We’ll explore some of the trails through this park maintained by BMNC.
